It's a good idea to have a landing page for your ppc campaign. A landing page is not really a home page. It's the first page that people are going to see when they click on your ad. It has to be more catchy than your home page and give a lot of information very quickly.
When people see your landing page it has to draw them in right away, or you just lost a customer. So that means that your landing page should be related to the advertisement that you placed with AdWords. After all, they click on that ad, because they wanted to see something that has to do with that ad. If your ad was about video games, and you start talking about home cooking, then people are going to leave in a nano second. Make sure it's related!
Next, you have to think about the wording of your ads. Sure you can throw the word “free” in your ad, but that is going to get you traffic, not sales. Filling your customers with empty lies is just going to make them mad at you, and they are not going to buy from you at all. Next, you need to come up with a catchy and relevant title that can go with your AdWords ad.
This should be a title that is easy to say, yet says a lot. It should be eye catching, but not full of a bunch of empty words. This is not as hard to do as it may sound. We have all read ads before, and we know which ones are good and grab us and which ones push us a way.
